BOUNCY HAIR

Bouncy hair isn’t a “girl thing”. Boys bounce sometimes too and it’s essentially just more obvious on the runners with a pony tail!

Here she is opening up her ankle joint too much. When she opens up her ankle joint, her body is propelled vertically rather than forward.

We have ways to contain the ankle joint. It’s really important not to crush a runner who is bouncy. They have a fantastic ninja spring that is brilliant when contained!

SYMMETRY IS KING

Ideally, the runner wants to be even. Deficiencies in the symmetry is a warning sign that something else is going on.

Here, his left hand is dropping down when running. His left side leg (hamstring) was tight too and the “knock on effect” shows.

Usually, when you have an arm that isn’t swinging evenly, it’s because the there is a problem on the same side as the uneven arm.

He’s fine now and all straightened out. Keep your eyes open for things that aren’t even.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT RUN CLUB

HOW DO I JOIN RUN CLUB?

Simply, fill out the Google Form linked on this page and you will recieve the details to get yourself on the private Facebook announcement group.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT RUN CLUB?

Let’s start with what you won’t get. You will not have a coach who gives you a training set and watching you from the sidelines. This is either lazy coaching or they don’t know how to change your technique.

You can expect 1hr of The Reich Method® and you’ll dial in on your technique through skills, drills and games. A time trial of various distances is always offered as your dessert! Times are kept and yes, you can will get used to knowing all about times and what to aim for.

Do expect a mad cardio session followed by a mobility cool down. One thing we can’t control is effort. Effort is controlled by you.

During Run Club Dr Renea “picks on” everyone unevenly… If you’re doing well, great, if you need a hand, she is 100% there for you. She is your biggest fan and supporter!

You will know exactly what to do and when. It is all about patience and perspective. Consider Run Club as your class room. It takes time.

The Reich Method® is a not only fun, it’s a memorable way of learning the art of getting faster, going for longer and staying injury free.

HOW DO I PAY MY $5?

Cash on the day or you can direct debit. The bank details are inside the private Facebook group.

Some folks choose to pay as they go and per session or a group of 5 or 10 sessions as they go. This is completely optional. There is no lock in contracts.

WHAT DO I BRING TO RUN CLUB?

O’Quinn Oval is an exposed oval. When we run in the mornings, you can expect it to be windy and cold in the winter and yummy and warm in the summer.

If cold. runners wear jackets and track pants and removed as desired. It is recommended to leave with what you had on. If you arrived in a beanie and jacket, you need to leave wearing your beaning and jacket.

BYO filled water bottle. There is a water bubbler not far from where we train. Hand sanitiser and tissues are supplied and available.

WHAT DISTANCES DO YOU TRAIN?

Seriously, every distance! Running is running and it’s all essentially the same technique.

Just a tip for the new punters, just because you think you like a distance doesn’t mean that’s where you’ll stay.

We’re 100% ok with change. If you start training for a half marathon (21km), you just might find yourself hitting the Masters (30+ age) competitions in Brisbane for the 1500m.

If you want to compete in the steeplechase, let us know. The training is a little different.

YES! 60m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 1500, 1.6m (1mile), 3km, 5km, 10km, 21km, 42+km, cross country.

The Reich Method® is a system that covers all running distances and speeds.

I HAVE NEVER RUN BEFORE

Great! Welcome to running. All runners (beginners to national standard) are in the same group.

The Reich Method® easily caters for all levels of running developement.

I WANT TO RUN FASTER FOR SOCCER

Nearly all of our Run Clubbers are involved in team sports away from individual track running.

We have martial arts (cutting weight), AFL, Rugby Union, Rugby League, Tennis, Netball, Touch Football, Hockey, Cricket and others. They all need to be fast and fit to keep their positions on their teams.

Yes! Run Club will help with your sports outside of track and cross country running.

WHY ONLY $5?

I’ll jump in here… I never had accessibility to coaching when I was a junior athlete. Didn’t have the cash and didn’t have the expertise close to me. I had to work it out for myself.

When it comes to running, I genuinely want to expose as many runners as often as possible to The Reich Method®. This is why the price was set at $5 per person per session. It’s my way of giving back to the community.

Cheers, Renea.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I COME TO RUN CLUB?

As often as you possibly can. These sessions are technical and the runners who come more often do better with their technique.

Here’s the thing, if you can come once a month, that’s absolutely better than never!

Everyone has their reasons for how often they come.
